Independent Film Company Acquires Georgia Bernstein’s Debut Feature NIGHT NURSE Following Buzzy Sundance Premiere

New York – June 1, 2026 – Independent Film Company has acquired U.S. and Canadian rights to NIGHT NURSE, an atmospheric, psychosexual thriller from Georgia Bernstein, making her feature directorial debut based on her own script. Following a buzzy world premiere out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, the film is slated for a theatrical release on July 10, 2026.

A bold and visually luscious thriller exploring the dark side of caregiving, NIGHT NURSE stars breakout talent Cemre Paksoy opposite Bruce McKenzie in a captivating story thrust into motion when a series of perverse scam calls unsettles an idyllic retirement community, and a starry-eyed nurse (Paksoy) becomes entangled with her mysterious patient (McKenzie). Director Georgia Bernstein’s erotic thriller palpably explores how emotion, deception, and sexual obsession connect between caregivers and the people they care for.

“Georgia is an incredibly exciting talent whose debut feature drew us in from the very first frame. It’s rare to encounter such bold and boundary-pushing filmmaking, and we’re thrilled to bring it to audiences this summer,” said Rachael Labes from IFC Entertainment Group Acquisitions.

“I couldn’t be more grateful to the team at IFC for championing Night Nurse and bringing it to theaters this summer. They immediately understood the film’s tone and provocations, and I feel very lucky to be working with a company that has long supported so many of my favorite filmmakers.”

The film was produced by Georgia Bernstein, Edwin Linker, Liane Cunje, Veronica Barbosa and Lucy Rogers. Rachael Labes negotiated the deal on behalf of Independent Film Company and Jessica Lacy and Julien Levesque of Gersh on behalf of the filmmakers.

Bernstein is represented by Gersh and Entertainment 360.
