The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) welcomed nearly 80,000 visitors during the Grand Opening Weekend of the David Geffen Galleries, marking a milestone for the museum’s transformative new campus. More than 60,000 guests attended the free Block Party on June 20, while The Art Parade brought together more than 1,600 participants in a creative procession along Wilshire Boulevard.

The five-day celebration featured The Genesis Talks with Thelma Golden and Michael Govan, soccer watch parties, mindfulness programs, live performances, and community activities designed to celebrate art, culture, and public engagement. Presented in part by the East West Bank Foundation, the Grand Opening Weekend highlighted LACMA’s commitment to expanding access to the arts for audiences across Los Angeles.
