Recording Academy Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective Honoring Brandy, Kirk Franklin & Pharrell Williams

The Recording Academy® ’s Black Music Collective celebrated the illustrious careers of Grammy Award-winning legends Brandy, Kirk Franklin and Pharrell Williams at the fourth annual Recording Academy Honors event. Brandy and Franklin were each honored with the Black Music Icon Award. Williams was presented with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. A stellar lineup of Grammy winners and nominees took the stage to honor the evening’s recipients, including Coco Jones, FLO, Kehlani, Brittany Spencer, Darrel Walls, John Legend, Lecrae, PJ Morton, Tamela Mann, Voices of Fire, Clipse, Leon Thomas, and Justin Timberlake. Brandy and Franklin also delivered unforgettable performances of their own. Additional appearances throughout the evening included BMC Co-Chairs J. Ivy and Torae, Dr. Dre and Tyler, The Creator.

Grammy House: Forging Tomorrow’s Music Landscape Today

In a conversation moderated by Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr., Grammy-winning musician, producer, tech founder, and futurist will.i.am explored how AI is changing the craft of music and how the music community is responding. The panel also featured Grammy nominee Sierra Hull and Christian rap artist Miles Minnick.

Grammy House: Global Mixtape

Hosted by Grammy Award-winning artist Tony Succar, the Global Mixtape event at Grammy House celebrated the sounds, creativity and artistry of the next generation of global talent. The showcase featured performances by Paloma Morphy, ADÉLA, Hajaj, and Grammy nominee Davido as the headliner.
