Special Merit Awards Ceremony

The Recording Academy®  celebrated Carlos Santana, Chaka Khan, Cher, Fela Kuti, Paul Simon, and Whitney Houston as the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement honorees; Bernie Taupin, Eddie Palmieri and Sylvia Rhone as the Trustees Award honorees; and John Chowning is the Technical Grammy Award honoree at the historic Wilshire Ebell Theatre the ay before the Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy also presented the Harry Belafonte Best Song For Social Change Award to “Ice Cream Man” written by Mike Sabath, Bloodpop, and RAYE; and the Recording Academy and Grammy Museum® presented the Music Educator Award to Mrs. Jennifer Jimenez.

Pre-Grammy Gala & Grammy Salute to Industry Icons Honoring Avery Lipman & Monte Lipman

The Recording Academy and Clive Davis recognized REPUBLIC Founder and CEO Monte Lipman and REPUBLIC Founder and COO Avery Lipman with the 2026 GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons honor at the legendary Pre-Grammy Gala. The illustrious night preceding the Grammy Awards® featured special tributes and performances by MGK & Jelly Roll, Alex Warren, Clipse & John Legend, Darren Criss with Laufey, Olivia Dean, HUNTR/X from K-Pop Demon Hunters, Sombr, Jennifer Hudson, Dan + Shay, and Art Garfunkel.

The Recording Academy’s Gold Music Alliance celebrated the incredible cultural milestones achieved by AAPI+ (Asian American and Pacific Islander) music creators, featuring performances by ARKAI, Stephanie Poetri, and MICO.

Grammy House: Academy Proud

A celebration to support and amplify the voices of the Queer community and its allies in music with special performances by drag icon Sasha Colby, Grammy-nominated artist and ally of the LGBTQIA+ community Zara Larsson, singer and songwriter ZEE MACHINE, a DJ set by Cor.Ece, and hosted by Jus10.
