The Brainwashing Of My Dad **1/2 out of 4 stars
It’s not news that Fox News is brainwashing Americans, especially right-wingers. So Jen Senko puts her documentary on the wiser route by focusing on elder Americans, particularly her WWII veteran father who was once a democratic, before watching Fox news, and a near-religious cult following for even more fanatic talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, gave way to major fanaticism, including rants that blow steam toward Democrats, homosexuals, minorities, and more. Using vintage family-footage and her own voice to narrate, Jen Senko’s film isn’t exactly art, but nonetheless provides a scary exposure of how right-wing media carefully and maniacally constructs stories to hypnotize you with next, twenty-four seven. And by doing that, and willingly putting her very own father in the spotlight, The Brainwashing Of My Dad remains something worth seeing.
