Beverly Hills, California – (December 14, 2023) Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) launched into their four-day star-studded auction event “HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS” Thursday, December 14th with their inaugural Hollywood evening sale presentation offering props, costumes, models, memorabilia and beyond with “Robots, Wizards, Heroes & Aliens.”

The auction held across a galaxy of film and television’s most popular science fiction, fantasy, action and superhero franchises spanning from the 1950s to today’s modern contemporary classics kicked off live at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills and online at Julien’s Live with thousands joining in the room and online from around the world. Bidders participated from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Sweden, Italy, Hong Kong, Israel, The Netherlands, Ireland, Austria, Finland, Uruguay, South Korea, New Zealand, Switzerland and more.

The first evening session’s top auction headliner came from E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. An original hero mechanical animatronic E.T. head created by the legendary Carlo Rambaldi and as seen throughout Steven Spielberg’s E.T. The Extra Terrestrial sold for an astounding $635,000.

Another top highlight of the evening was the sale of one of the most famous and legendary robots of all time, Model B-9 “The Robot” from the pioneering science fiction series of the 1960s, Lost In Space, which sold for $455,000. One of only two full-scale figures that were made during the show’s three-year run, this is one of the rarest artifacts from the era ever offered at auction which also is still functional.
