KENSHO AT THE BEDFELLOW

Written and Directed by Brad Raider

Featuring Brad Raider, Kaley Ronayne, Steven Klein, Grainger Hines, Kathryn Erbe, and Sahr Ngaujah

After a successful World Premiere at the Harlem Film Festival in New York City Sept 13th, where KENSHO won the New York Showcase Award for a new filmmaker, the film will now premiere in LA Sept 20th at the Awareness Film Festival, a ten-day event intended to showcase social-impact cinema.

Dan Bender is 33 and trapped by almost everything: his overnight job at the Bedfellow Hotel, his manipulative ex- girlfriend, his unforgivable Dad, his growing debt, and his quiet desperation …

What he ultimately finds in his darkest hour is illumination beyond his wildest comprehension — an experience of Kensho or “seeing one’s truest Nature.” Through the lens of Dan’s consciousness, KENSHO AT THE BEDFELLOW explores the nature of fulfillment, relationships, family, social conscience, sex, death, religion, life purpose, and the role that self-reflection plays on the global stage.

KENSHO AT THE BEDFELLOW is a micro-budget feature starring Brad Raider, Kaley Ronayne, Steven Klein, Grainger Hines, Kathryn Erbe, and Sahr Ngaujah — about a guy in New York City searching for freedom and fulfillment in all the wrong places.

The film shot on the RED Epic in late 2013 / early 2014 in 35 locations on two coasts with 29 shooting days, 40 crew members, 30 speaking roles, special effects, kids, and an animal. KENSHO completed post-production with full-color grading, original score, and full sound-mix in Summer 2015.

The production made use of the SAG Ultra-low budget contact and with the support of the New York State Governor’s Office for Motion Picture Development.
