Ax and the Hatchetmen Have ‘So Much To Tell You’ on Debut Album

HEADLINING U.S. TOUR KICKED OFF THIS WEEK

FEATURING SOLD OUT SHOWS IN LA, BOSTON, DENVER AND MORE

October 24th, 2025 – Today, Ax and The Hatchetmen release their debut album So Much To Tell You, out now via Arista Records. Earlier this month, they released the breezy single, “Oasis,”  the band’s first release since July’s Constant Change EP.  This week, they kicked off their North American tour, featuring sold-out shows in Los Angeles, Boston, Denver, and more. Buy/Stream So Much to Tell YouHERE and see all tour dates below.

So Much to Tell You includes some of the already fan-favorite songs heard on the Constant Change EP, a dizzy swirl of gritty garage-rock, psychedelic jangle, and jammy dynamism brought to life in part by storied producer Jake Sinclair (Panic! At The Disco, Weezer) who not only connected the group with their hero Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes for the explosive lead single “Blurry Lights,” but also helped source a long-lost Rivers Cuomo demo for the sunny, carefree cut “7×9.” Also joining the LP tracklist are the racing bliss bomb of an early single “Stay // Honestly” and “Hotel Room,” an infectious tune that captures the ache of long-distance romance (and whose lyrics give the album its title).

Following the release of Constant Change, the band sat down for in-depth chats with The Luna Collective and Melodic Mag, and also hit the road for a summer run supporting Fitz and the Tantrums on their Man on the Moon Tour. Frontman Axel Ellis just wrapped up his tour with The Runarounds, the rock band at the center of the fictional Prime Video high school music drama series The Runarounds, in which he costars as Neil Crosby.

For their current headliner, Ax and The Hatchetmen are joined by a rotating cast of talented friends: EdgehillKids That FlyFoxtideGood Boy Daisy, and John-Robert. Experience the band’s freewheeling live chemistry at a date below, and listen to their first full-length statement, the fittingly titled So Much to Tell You.

WHO

About Ax and the Hatchetmen
Formed in 2018, Ax and the Hatchetmen came roaring out of Chicago with feel-great, crowd-pleasing shows, tight-knit musical camaraderie, and a wide range of influences spanning generations and genres. Led by guitarist/singer Axel Ellis, the band also features Sal Defilippis on guitar, Hunter Olshefke on bass, Nick Deputy on drums, Phil Pistone on trumpet, and Quinn Dolan on saxophone. Along with Ellis, the road-tripping sextet originally met in music school, where they were studying jazz. Though each band member has a formal music education, together Ax and the Hatchetmen have a loose, organic, rollicking vibe, channeling everyone from the Strokes to the Specials to the Rolling Stones, the Black Keys, Pink Floyd, ELO, Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, Cage The Elephant, and Hippo Campus.

Over the past few years, the guys have sold out headlining tours, played the hometown festival they once looked at with stars in their eyes (Lollapalooza), blessed fans with a 2023 live album, scored a deal with Arista Records, and released a steady stream of singles culminating in 2025’s Constant Change EP, produced by Jake Sinclair (Panic! At The Disco, Weezer, Avril Lavigne) and featuring a cameo from Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes on the explosive lead single “Blurry Lights.” Ellis also launched his on-screen career this year with a featured role in Amazon series The Runarounds.

With the band’s debut album out now and their headline tour officially underway following a run supporting Fitz and The Tantrums, they hope crowds will connect with their uplifting sound and, as Axel puts it, “aspirationally optimistic” lyrics. If you do catch them live or even in headphones, though, you can bet on one thing: as long as you’re with Ax and The Hatchetmen, all will feel right in the world.
