d00mscrvll is the Grammy-winning artist and superproducer’s latest experiment in phonk, a multi-cultural genre of dance-inflected hip hop instrumentals. Transformed from its roots in 2000s Memphis hip hop by hyperonline Russian teens, the sound is now taking a swing through Brazil and back into the mainstream.
A lifelong fan of Memphis rap, Diplo credits much of his love for music to the genre. Across this project, he’s joined by the legendary Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, Hypnotize Minds’ Project Pat and many more.
Throughout the summer, Diplo shared tracks featuring collaborations with Artemas, Benny Benassi, WesGhost and Nfasis, among others, giving fans the first taste of the d00mscrvll sound.
