“The best of the series to date. More than just another document of their antics, the documentary is an ode to a new era of activism relevant to anyone moved to take action – or questioning if it’s worth their time to do so.” – Eric Kohn, Indiewire

“By allowing The Yes Men to voice the same anxieties experienced by anyone striving to remain relevant as they age, the directors have made the best Yes Men film yet and pointed a way forward for the group.” – Scott Macaulay, Filmmaker Magazine

“An entertaining mix of agitprop, pranksterism and autobiography – an activist documentary that’s about as easy a sit as they come.” – Dennis Harvey, Variety

The Orchard is proud to present THE YES MEN ARE REVOLTING – the third cinematic outing of the titular activist pranksters (after THE YES MEN and THE YES MEN FIX THE WORLD), directed and produced by Laura Nix and the Yes Men and executive produced by Funny or Die’s Adam McKay. A hilarious look at how to keep the rebellious spirit alive even after middle age has hit, the film premiered to standing ovations at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival, was the closing night film of the DOC NYC Festival in New York and played in the Panorama section of the 2015 Berlinale. It opens on June 12 in New York and on June 19 in Los Angeles before expanding nationally; it will premiere on VOD and across all digital platforms on June 9.

For the last 20 years, the notorious duo The Yes Men have staged outrageous and hilarious hoaxes to draw international attention to corporate crimes against humanity and the environment. Armed with nothing but thrift-store suits and a lack of shame, iconoclastic revolutionaries “Mike Bonanno” and “Andy Bichlbaum” (not their real names, as we discover in this movie) lie their way into business events and government functions to expose the dangers of letting greed run our world. The only problem is that they are now well into their 40s, and their mid life crises are threatening to drive them out of activism forever – even as they prepare to take on the biggest challenge they’ve ever faced: climate change. More than the first two installments, The Yes Men Are Revolting is as much a character study as it i s an entertaining depiction of their latest interventions. Revealing the real people behind the ruses, at its heart lies a hopeful message about fighting for change.
