BKK Films to Focus on Elevated Action and Asian-Led Feature Films
LOS ANGELES & BANGKOK, THAILAND (March 4, 2026) — Established indie production and financing company Storyoscopic Films (Vampires of the Velvet Lounge, Worth the Wait) and Southeast Asia’s leading production services company Indochina Productions (Send Help, The Creator) announced the formation of their new joint venture, BKK Films, headed by Storyoscopic’s Marcus Englefield and George Lee, and Indochina’s Nicholas Simon (Emmy nominee for The White Lotus). Headquartered in Bangkok, BKK Films is financing and producing high-quality, globally minded action and genre films, focused primarily on shooting in Thailand, while also developing projects across Southeast Asia and other international territories.
BKK Films is committed to character-driven genre storytelling with global appeal, centered on compelling Asian themes, protagonists, and authentically rooted regional narratives elevated by the craft and cinematic scope of Hollywood genre filmmaking. Its inaugural slate of feature films scheduled to enter production this year include:
- 7 GUNS featuring Andrew Koji (the upcoming Street Fighter, Bullet Train) in a stylized gangster film blending crime, action, and striking visual design from award-winning short filmmaker Beau Fowler (Express Delivery) in his feature-length directorial debut. Producers are George Lee and Marcus Englefield for Storyoscopic, Nicholas Simon for Indochina, Beau Fowler and David Mullengerfor Ki Films, and Andrew Koji.
- DEAD RUN, a high-octane action thriller from acclaimed cinematographer Brandon Cox (blockbusters Werewolves, Heist, Cut Throat City) making his feature directorial debut promising visceral set pieces and kinetic storytelling set against the backdrop of Southeast Asia’s urban and rural landscapes. Producers are George Lee and Marcus Englefield for Storyoscopic, and Nicholas Simon for Indochina.

BKK Films will actively pursue partnerships with international financiers, streamers, and distributors, with additional projects to be announced later this year. Most recently, the partners collaborated on the independent action film, Blood and Dust, starring Jonathan Rhys Myers and directed and written by award-winning filmmaker Adam Sherman.
