(Los Angeles, March 12, 2026) RZA, legendary filmmaker, producer, and founder/abbott of the Wu-Tang Clan (2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee), announced today that 36 Cinema will be taking their inaugural step as 36 Cinema Distribution with the theatrical release of “RZA’s One Spoon of Chocolate.” The film was directed, written and produced by RZA and is set to release exclusively in US theaters on May 1, 2026.
Continuing a partnership dating back to RZA’s score for “Kill Bill: Volume 1” & “Volume 2”, Quentin Tarantino has come on board to present the film.
36 Cinema Distribution is envisioned as a continuation of RZA’s decades of innovation when it comes to connecting with audiences for both film and music, and will feature theatrical distribution of new releases and classic titles for both traditional theatrical runs as well as event theatrical screenings. Additional titles will be announced at a later date.
The film stars Shameik Moore, Blair Underwood, RJ Cyler, Paris Jackson, Emyri Crutchfield, Michael Harney and Harry Goodwins. The US theatrical release will be powered by Variance Films and is produced by RZA, Paul Hall, and Talani R. Diggs. The film will be presented in glorious 35mm for select engagements, including a two week engagement at Los Angeles’ legendary Vista Theatre.
