“Ashes” is the latest country release from Diplo, who has released several critically acclaimed projects under the country moniker Thomas Wesley. The Tupelo, MS by way of Daytona, FL native released Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 — Swamp Savant in 2023, featuring the Platinum-certified “Heartbroken” with Jessie Murph and Polo G and additional collaborations with Morgan Wade, Parker McCollum, Sierra Ferrell, Paul Cauthen, Dove Cameron and Sturgill Simpson. His country debut, 2020’s Platinum-certified Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley Chapter 1: Snake Oil, features the seven times Platinum “Heartless” with Morgan Wallen and the Gold-certified “Dance With Me” with Thomas Rhett and Young Thug. He shared his latest, Diplo Presents Thomas Wesley: The Mixtape, last year, featuring a remix of The Outfield’s “Your Love”—both Diplo’s new rendition and the 1985 original climbed the Billboard charts shortly thereafter.
“Ashes” is the latest single featured on Zimmerman’s anxiously awaited sophomore album Different Night Same Rodeo out August 8 via Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville—pre-add / pre-save HERE. Produced by longtime collaborator Austin Shawn, Different Night Same Rodeo features previously released superstar collaboration “Backup Plan” featuring Luke Combs as well as Top 10 and platinum single “Holy Smokes,” in addition to “New To Country,” “Hell or High Water,” “Holding On,” and “Comin’ In Cold.”
